University Awards Criteria
Teamwork and Collaboration Award Nomination
The Teamwork Award recognizes teams who demonstrate cooperation, collaboration and open communication. Eligible teams should be comprised of staff and/or faculty members who have collaborated and worked together on a project or significant effort that advanced college/departmental goals and /or the University’s strategic goals.
- Teams, or individual staff, faculty and administrators who exhibit one or more of the following:
- Works effectively as part of a team to successfully accomplish a task or goal in support of the University’s strategic goals.
- Creates a team environment that promotes communication, trust, cooperation and respect for differences.
- Contributes to a group effort that has a significant impact on departmental goals.
- Develops partnerships that seek input and involvement of those affected by decisions.
- Accepts responsibility and accountability in helping to advance the University or departmental goals.
- Places team goals above personal goals while achieving a distinctive result or product.
All full-time and part-time faculty, staff and administrators are eligible for this nomination. Any university employee may nominate faculty, staff, or administrators. Teams are, in general, more than one, but fewer than 10 people. Team’s membership may constitute a department or cross-unit.
Nominations may be made by staff, faculty, or administrators at any level. Nominations will be reviewed by the University Awards Program Committee. The top scoring teams will be selected as the winners of the Teamwork and Collaboration award at the 2021 University Awards Program.
Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Award Nomination
The Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Award recognizes staff, faculty, administrators or teams who have taken action to make CSUF a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive campus community.
The Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Award will be awarded to an individual or team who demonstrate exemplary devotion and leadership that manifests the ideals of diversity, inclusion, and equity into practical action.
Nominees may demonstrate this commitment across a range of possibilities: student- or staff-centered inclusion initiatives; efforts to support recruitment and retention of diverse faculty, staff and/or students; multicultural programming or related initiatives; or community outreach activities.
Teams or an individual that demonstrate a high regard for diversity, inclusion, and equity through one or more of the following:
Actions that have promoted an inclusive and equitable campus environment that is welcoming, supportive and nurturing of cultural, ethnic, racial, class, gender, sexual orientation, language and other human differences.
Leadership on activities that have or will have significant and lasting impact on the CSUF community in terms of diversity and inclusion.
Contributed to raising awareness and consciousness about diversity and inclusion within the context of the University’s mission, strategic goals, and direction.

Nominations will be reviewed by the University Awards Program Committee. The top scoring individual or team will be selected as the winners of the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Award at the 2021 University Awards Program.
Titan Excellence Awards Criteria
Titan Excellence Award Nomination
We are looking for members of the Titan Family who reach higher, dedicate themselves every day to a job well done and are committed to the University's mission and values.
The Titan Excellence Awards recognizes those who demonstrate at least one of the following:
values student success
demonstrates exemplary service to the campus and/or community
provides outstanding education support
exemplifies CSUF mission and values
All full-time and part-time faculty, staff and administrators are eligible for this nomination. Any University employee or student can nominate a faculty, staff or administrators. Nominees must have been employed for at least 12 months to be considered.
Each nomination will be reviewed and scored individually by all members of the nominations committee. The top three scored nominations will be selected as Titan Excellence Award winners. Of the three winners, one will be recognized as Titan of the Year.
