Campus Re-Entry Update
Throughout the pandemic, maintaining the health and safety of all Titans has been one of our guiding principles and is at the forefront of our re-entry planning. The California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) has announced new emergency temporary standards that will phase out physical distancing as of July 31, 2021. In light of this, the campus will move our fall re-entry date from July 1, 2021 to August 1, 2021.
Preparations for re-entry have been made, emphasizing flexibility so the campus can pivot quickly and safely when needed. This shift will enable the University to complete preparations for the return of our students this fall and provide our employees with additional time to plan for their transition back to campus. Until August 1, we will continue to utilize our phased approach to campus re-entry. This means that some employees will return to campus prior to August 1 to support fall re-entry and join employees who have either already returned or remained on campus throughout the pandemic. Employees required to return prior to August 1 will be communicated with by their Appropriate Administrators.
Temporary telecommute agreements will remain in place through July 31, and your division leadership will provide you with updates on your division's re-entry plan and process. The single day access request form will also continue to be used through July 31 for employees not regularly scheduled to be on campus.
If you have questions, please contact your supervisor for further guidance. Additional information will be shared at the employee planning forum for faculty and staff on Tuesday, June 8 at 4 pm – 5 pm. Forum links and recordings can be found on the HRDI Coronavirus website.
Thank you for your continued flexibility and efforts as we move forward and adapt to new circumstances together.
