2025 Open enrollment 

The Open Enrollment (OE) period is your annual opportunity to review and update your current benefits for the upcoming year. We encourage you to take this opportunity to review all benefits plan options and costs before making any enrollment decisions for yourself and family members. In-Person Campus Benefits Expo
Join us in-person at the Health and Wellness Expo on September 27th in the Titan Student Union (TSU) from 11:00am – 2:00pm. Learn about the changes for 2025 and meet the vendors. Plus, free COVID and Flu shots for PPO insurance and some HMO’s. Please be ready to present your medical identification. This year’s theme is "Reign Over Your Health."


 

Virtual CSU Chancellor’s Office Benefits Fair

We are also participating in a virtual fair hosted by the Chancellor’s Office (CO). Learn about the changes for 2025 and video or text chat during the fair with your HRDI Total Wellness team and benefit vendors. You must register prior to attending and use your campus assigned email address. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with a link and instructions on how to join. You must be logged into Zoom using your campus assigned email address.

Q&A Sessions

If you are unable to attend the Virtual Benefits Fair or the Expo, HRDI is offering individual in-person informational sessions to assist you with your Open Enrollment questions. You will have the opportunity to learn about the changes for 2025 and get your questions answered.

BENEFIT

CHA​NGES FOR 2024

Health Plan Changes – PERS Gold and PERS Platinum

Blue Shield of California will be the new administrator for all PPO plans.

  • For members in a basic plan, they are partnering with Included Health to provide member services, including answering inquiries, guiding members to the most appropriate in-network and high-quality providers, and providing care coordination services for members, particularly those with complex health conditions. Included Health will also expand access to care through their supplemental virtual primary care and behavioral health care services.
  • There are no changes to copays, coinsurance, or deductibles with the transition to Blue Shield.

Health Plan Design Changes

Doula Benefit for all Pregnant and Postpartum Members

  • New benefit for all pregnant and postpartum Basic plan members to receive health education, advocacy, physical and emotional nonmedical support before, during and after pregnancy, miscarriage, stillbirth and abortions. 


Travel Benefit for Medically Necessary Care 

  • Update to standardize travel and lodging coverage for eligible medically necessary services including, but not limited to abortion services, gender affirming care, complex surgeries, and cancer care that cannot be accessed within 50 miles from the member’s residence for all Basic and Medicare plan members, up to $5,000 per occurrence. This includes transportation, lodging and meals for the member and a companion (both parents/guardians when patient is under 18).

 

Vision Benefits

The VSP Premier Plan

  • Effective January 1, 2025, there will be a small rate increase. 

The Standard 

Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance 

  • New for 2025, The Standard Insurance will allow eligible active members the opportunity to enroll in Voluntary Life insurance (up to $100,000 for self and/or a spouse/registered domestic partner for up to $50,000) without providing Evidence of Insurability. If you currently have less than $100,000 of coverage or you are not currently enrolled, you can apply for this enhanced benefit. 

Note: Prior declined employees will need to provide satisfactory Evidence of Insurability for this enhanced benefit.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS

 

Health Care and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts

All employees must re-enroll via the campus portal during Open Enrollment to participate in the Flexible Spending Accounts.

  • The minimum monthly deduction for each plan is $20.00.
  • Dependent Care Reimbursement Account (DCRA) maximum monthly deduction is $416.66 ($5,000.00 annually)
  • Health Care Reimbursement Account (HCRA) maximum monthly deduction is $266.66 ($3,200.00 annually).

 


 

VOLUNTARY PLANS

Participation and/or cancellation in the voluntary plans must be processed with each provider. For a full description of the plans, please visit csyou.calstate.edu.
