Update on Future Campus Operations

As President Virjee announced on Monday, CSUF will be extending mandatory temporary telecommuting for all non-essential personnel whose jobs can be performed remotely through June 30, 2020. This extension affords our campus the time and resources to take in the ever-evolving direction from the governor, the chancellor, and other sources on this critical decision. As before, this date is subject to change depending on circumstances and/or federal, state, or local guidance. In alignment with that framework and with the guidance of both health professionals and campus stakeholders, the campus is planning to predominately offer virtual instruction in fall 2020. There are two sets of diverse committees working through this planning, both of which are made up of cross-sections of faculty and staff from a variety of colleges, divisions, and departments. They will continue to be in close consultation with all campus stakeholders to ensure all views and voices are heard and considered as part of any final decision on fall 2020. These stakeholders include faculty, staff, ASI, our Academic Senate, and our union colleagues. An update on a more concrete, final decision on the details of the campus plan will come from the President toward the end of the month.
