Special Consultant Hire Process:

To begin the recruitment process of hiring a Special Consultant, please ensure you have a cms position number. 

  • The department completes the online Quick Hire requisition. If a candidate has been identified, include name of candidate, proposed hourly rate, and appointment dates or duration within the text box field “Advertisement Text” of the requisition, toward the bottom of the page.
  • The requisition is electronically routed for approvals via email to the appropriate parties.
  • The Special Consultant shall apply to the Temporary Pool at our Careers at CSUF.
  • Human Resources contacts the Special Consultant and makes a verbal conditional offer explaining the terms and conditions of employment.
  • Upon acceptance, the background check is initiated. 
  • Once the background check is cleared, Human Resources extends a formal offer to the candidate  to review and accept in their online portal. Human Resources will send a new hire announcement to the department. At this point, department may begin requesting an account through IT Service Now and other needed items.
  • The Special Consultant will need to visit the Onboarding Portal and complete the tasks assigned.
