Quick Hire Process

This type of recruitment is a direct appointment. The department can provide the selected candidate's information within the requisition or may reach out to Talent Acquisition for available temporary pool candidates. Prior to creating a Requisition, the department must have a CMS Position Number.

  • The department completes the online Quick Hire requisition. If a candidate has been identified, include name of candidate, proposed hourly rate, and appointment dates or duration within the text box field “Advertisement Text” of the requisition, toward the bottom of the page.
  • The requisition is electronically routed for approvals via email to the appropriate parties.
  • If a department has identified a candidate outside of the Temporary pool, candidate must apply to the Temporary Pool at Careers at CSUF.
  • Human Resources contacts the candidate and makes a verbal offer explaining the terms and conditions of employment.

  • References will be initiated upon acceptance of the verbal conditional offer.

  • Once reference checks have completed, Human Resources initiates the background check.

  • Once the background check is cleared, Human Resources extends a formal offer to the candidate  to review and accept in their online portal. Human Resources will send a new hire announcement to the department. At this point, department may begin requesting an account through IT Service Now and other needed items.

  • The Quick Hire will need to visit the Onboarding Portal and complete the tasks assigned.

Temporary Employee's First Day

  • All quick-hire employees are instructed to report to Human Resources to complete any necessary forms prior to reporting to their assigned department.
  • If the candidate opts out of attending Onboarding, Human Resources will instruct the employee where to report at the time of sign-in and provide the candidate with a map of the campus.
  • Department/Employee will submit hours worked on the appropriate timesheets.
