Overview of CHRS Recruiting
CHRS Recruiting is a cloud-based applicant tracking system utilized by the entire CSU to advertise positions, hire, and onboard employees. Both the CO and all 23 CSU campuses share CHRS Recruiting in a single, cloud-based system. The system is frequently updated by the vendor and Chancellor’s Office.
As of October 1, 2021, CHRS Recruiting is used by Cal State Fullerton to hire for all employee groups including temporary and full-time faculty, staff, administrators, non-represented students, and academic student employees (represented students).
CHRS Recruiting Features for all Employee Groups
- All recruitments post to our CSUF Careers website.
- Background checks can be requested and conducted within CHRS Recruiting (Background Check Notification System BCNS will no longer be required).
- As of October 1, 2021, onboarding forms and other new hire documents can be completed by employees in the Onboarding Portal within CHRS Recruiting.
- The Onboarding Portal enables I-9 Forms to be automatically sent by Tracker I-9 to new employees after they accept the offer.
- Approval request emails can be resent by users.
- Paperless processing of applicants from start to finish.
Staff-Exclusive Features
- Position Descriptions and Job Requisitions are all digitally stored within CHRS Recruiting. They can be copied and reused for future recruitments.
- Campus Request Form to initiate background checks for staff positions is automatically sent during recruitment.
Faculty & Academic-Exclusive Features
- After search committee training is completed and the pools are reviewed by DIEP, Search Committee Chairs are may access applicants for review.
- Academic HR Services creates part-time lecturer pools, which contain applicants that are readily available for review by Department Chairs.
Student Assistant-Exclusive Features
- All applicants complete a standardized application and can provide resumes. This information is stored and easily accessible within the system.
- All on-campus open positions will be advertised in a single location.
