On Tuesday, May 6, Human Resources, Diversity & Inclusion hosted a seminar, Managing Change in the Workplace, at the University's Alumni House. The seminar provided background and a framework for "understanding the cycles of change and practical tools for managing yourself and leading others during life and work transitions."
As you know, our campus has experienced new and exciting change in recent years. Although, change provides opportunities for growth, it is important to note that even positive change creates emotional anxiety and some confusion. It is important to support our employees and one another in order to thrive in a change environment. Healthy and happy employees are more productive in their efforts to achieve our university's key strategic goals. We hope the participants found the seminar enlightening, encouraging and practical. HRDI will be sending out a PowerPoint version of the information presented to all attendees.
"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance."
