The department of American Studies at California State University, Fullerton is recruiting qualified candidates to teach courses on a part-time basis.
Among the courses to be staffed are:
- American Studies 201-Introduction to American Studies
- American Studies 300-Intro to American Popular Culture
- American Studies 301-American Character
- American Studies 320-Women in American Society
- American Studies 395-California Cultures

ABD or M.A. with substantial graduate course work in relevant field.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Appointment and Salary
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only. Salaries vary depending upon qualifications and experience. Typical starting salaries for part-time faculty start around $4149 per semester for a three unit course.
