California State University, Fullerton is a large, comprehensive, urban university with approximately 2,151 full- and part-time faculty and a diverse student body of approximately over 38,948 enrolled in Fall 2015. The university offers a broad spectrum of degree programs in liberal arts and sciences as well as applied and professional fields with 55 at the baccalaureate level and 54 graduate programs including a doctorate in education and doctor of nursing practice. Position
The focus of this position is teacher education and curriculum and instruction with a specialization in one of the following areas: reading/language arts, science, mathematics or social studies. Responsibilities include teaching in elementary (K-8) credential and master’s level programs. All coursework focuses on the preparation and development of teachers for linguistically and culturally diverse students.  Field supervision in multicultural urban environments is a standard component with the expectation of a strong commitment to field-based involvement.  Some instruction at off-campus sites and in online and hybrid environments is expected. Student advisement, scholarly research and publishing, and university service are also important components of the position and essential for retention, tenure and promotion.

Rank and Salary
The position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, tenure-track. Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary is subject to budgetary authorization and any California State University System faculty contract increases. Opportunities for summer teaching may be available.
