The Department of Human Communication Studies in the College of Communications at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant professor position in Organizational Communication beginning in August 2019. The position typically carries a 3/3 teaching load and will include teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in organizational communication and quantitative methods. The faculty member is expected to advise students, supervise theses and projects, publish research, participate in faculty governance, and engage in service.
Appointment Date: August 2019
- Ph.D. in Communication studies or a relevant field by August 2019 is required. ABDs may apply but must show evidence the degree will be completed by appointment date.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching ability.
- Record of scholarly accomplishment or strong potential for publishing peer-reviewed research.
- Ability to work collegially and effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, administration and community.
- Minimum of three years college teaching experience.
- Experience teaching undergraduate organizational communication and quantitative methods courses. (potential to teach graduate courses in these areas as well)
- Mixed quantitative/qualitative methods experience.
- Ability to engage students through the use of innovative teaching practices and teach students from diverse backgrounds as well as incorporate issues related to diversity into the curriculum.
- Strong potential to recruit new majors.
- Willingness to develop new curriculum.
- Track record of publishing in nationally recognized peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience in securing external grants.

This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
