California State University, Fullerton is a large, comprehensive, urban university with more than 4,100 full-and part-time faculty and staff members, and a diverse student body of 40,235 enrolled in Fall 2016. Modern Europe
Tenure-Track

The Department of History at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Modern European History, excluding Britain, France, Russia, and Germany with a preference for a specialty in Eastern Europe or the Mediterranean World. The position begins in August 2019. The Department strives to further CSUF’s identity as an institution that welcomes and embraces diversity. Position
The primary professional responsibilities of this instructional faculty member are: teaching undergraduate world history survey courses; general education courses in Modern Europe; advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in their historical fields in Modern European History; as well as courses in historical writing, theory, and methods. These responsibilities generally include: participation in department, college, university, and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions. Positive tenure and promotion decisions require excellent teaching, research, peer-reviewed publications, and participation in the broader disciplinary community.

Rank and Salary
The positions will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, tenure-track. Salary is competitive and commensurate with rank, qualifications, and experience. Salary is subject to budgetary authorization and any California State University System faculty contract increases. Moving expenses and start-up funds may be available. Additional teaching in summer and intersession is often available.
