Computational Applied Mathematics at CSU Fullerton
The department has an active group of faculty whose teaching focuses on modeling and computation at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and whose research is transdisciplinary with areas of expertise that include aerospace engineering, social networks, cellular biology, epidemiology, and small-scale systems. As the culminating experience of the master’s degree in applied mathematics, students carry out a team-based industrial consulting project under the mentorship of a faculty member. Recent industrial clients include NASA, Raytheon Company, SpiLab, L3, The Aerospace Corporation, and Earth Science Associates. The Center for Computational and Applied Mathematics currently has a computer cluster available to facilitate transdisciplinary academic and industrial research.
