Awards and Recognition

Titan Excellence Awards

Distinctive awards and recognition honors are given in various categories to recognize outstanding performance by employees who excel in their positions, demonstrate integrity and a strong commitment to the mission and values of our University.

Titan Excellence Award
Employees receive this award by demonstrating “Titan Excellence” which is achieved by providing “Above and Beyond” service to students, faculty, staff, callers, and campus visitors.

Outstanding Staff Award
Recipients are selected from those employees who received the Titan Excellence Award during the July through April period. This is awarded annually to up to three individuals with the highest level of service to the university.

Staff Appreciation Day
This annual event is CSUF’s way of recognizing all employees for their contributions to the University. We present of Outstanding Staff and Titan Excellence Awards winners, and recognize those employees who have earned college degrees and for years of service.

Eligibility
In order to be eligible for consideration, employees must have 12 consecutive months (one year) of employment by the university or any of its auxiliary organizations. These individuals must be working within the division designated for that month's program. The number of Titan Excellence Awards is based on divisional population.

  • Only Staff Employees can be nominated
    A Staff Employee is employed by the University and is represented by bargaining units 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, confidential employees and Auxiliary employees of the university. Advisory Committee members are eligible for nomination. Managers are not eligible for nomination. 

Nominations
Anyone with direct knowledge of an employee's performance may nominate an eligible staff employee for consideration of the Titan Excellence Award.  Complete a nomination form and submit to Human Resources by the designated deadline date with all appropriate signatures*.

Appropriate Signatures = HEERA-designated supervisor or manager who is an MPP (Management Personnel Plan) and the signature of the division Vice President.
