Employment Procedures
California State University, Fullerton uses an automated recruitment
management system for hiring staff and management positions. This
system offers opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness
of the employment process by bringing the employment process directly
to the user's desktop as a web based system. The tracking and support
of the employment process is more efficient with the automated electronic
system. Campus users and candidates will find significant advantages
to using this new exciting recruitment program.
An online resume process is used for all staff and management applicants
interested in applying for an open position within the university.
By providing key information about your interest, desires and past
background you will be able to create an electronic resume or you
can cut and paste your current resume into the system. An e-mail
address is required to create and submit a resume online from any
computer with Internet access. Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher,
Netscape 4.7.9, Netscape 7.0, AOL 7.0 and AOL 8.0 are recommended
for optimal use. If you do not have an email address you may want
to choose one from Yahoo Mail
or Hotmail to sign up for a
free account.
If you do not have access to the Internet, computer terminals are
available during the times listed below in Human Resources, 2600
E. Nutwood Avenue, Suite 700, Monday through Friday 9:00am - 4:00pm.
Our staff will be available to answer any questions about the process.
An appointment is not required in order to use these computers.
Human Resources staff will be available to answer any questions
about the process and assist applicants who are not familiar with
the computer.
How to Apply
In order to be considered for an open position at California State
University, Fullerton you will need to submit or create your resume
through the online application process. A confirmation message will
be sent to you upon completion of the application process. Please
print and save the message for future reference. Your resume will
remain active in the database for six months following the date
of submittal. Please do not send references, publications or other
materials.
On line application/resume must be received by electronic submission
on the final filing date by 9:00pm (Pacific Standard Time)/midnight
(Eastern Standard Time). Applicants who fail to complete all sections
of the on-line application form will be disqualified from consideration.

- Select jobs you are interested in and post or create your resume
online.
- You can apply for multiple positions at one-time.
- New jobs are posted on the website for a minimum of fourteen
days.
- The job may close or be filled at the hiring department's discretion
once it has met its specific posting period.
What Happens After I Submit My Resume?
Your resume will be reviewed and if you meet the essential qualifications
of the position for which you have applied, your resume will be
forwarded to the hiring department for further review and consideration.
If you are identified as a candidate the hiring department would
like to interview, you will be contacted by telephone or e-mail.
Each department has different hiring needs so the length of the
hiring process will vary depending on the position.
Follow Up
You may contact Human Resources to inquire on the status of an open
position at any time. We recommend that you allow at least two weeks
from the date of submission for your resume to be reviewed.
Temporary Openings
CSUF continuously accepts applications for positions in the temporary
pool. Applications remain active for 6 months. Requirements for
temporary positions vary and depend upon classification level and
departmental needs. There is not guarantee of continuous employment
on an on-going basis. Some positions require keyboard skills. When
keyboard skills at 45cwpm required, candidates must provide a certificate
on official letterhead and include, date of test, the administrators
name and telephone number, length of the test, and the results.
